Their next destination is Cooper Associates Ground at Taunton against the menacing Australia who faced a defeat by India where having a comfortable ride in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Both have already faced each other in a series before the campaign where Australia washed out Pakistan.
Pitch Conditions And Weather
County Ground in Bristol track in the past match ended up being a decent one for batting. The scene facilitated its first ODI as far back as the 1999 World Cup. The bowlers were not favoured, and batting was not tough on this pitch. Due to high chances of rain, a DLS can be on the cards and teams would look to field first by winning the toss.
The rains are getting irritating as they gave the third game off in this week and might wash out this game too. The strong dripping will start from the morning at 9 am and then will be available for the whole day. The temperature will be around 12 and 16 with humidity around 70% and 80%
After ruling out of Marcus Stoinis due to a side strain, Kane Richardson is more likely to come in as the speedster had an excellent performance in warm-ups. Steve Smith and David Warner gave good numbers on the team scorecard and are expected to provide the same in this match. Usman Khwaja as expected gave an explosive performance after coming at number four after Steve Smith. Glenn Maxwell and Alex Carey also gave notable performances.
Mitchell Starc probably the best bowler had the most numbers given away in the team having 10-74-1 with the second position to Nathan Coulter-Nile.Pat Cummins was the most economical in bowler the team. But all three seamers had a wicket in their pockets with injured Marcus Stoinis having the most outstanding performance. All need to give good going after Starc and Cummins try to deliver in the first 10 overs.
David Warner, Aaron Finch (C), Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey (WK), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Kane Richardson, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa.
Imam Ul Haq and Fakhar Zaman are in considerable form, but they still lack the skill to increase the run rates in the innings further slowly. Due to which Babar Azam and Mohammed Hafeez need to get the work started going at a fast pace. Sarfaraz Ahmed has also given some excellent contributions to the team. Asif Ali has had some good knocks and can go with his bat if he wants to.
Shadab Khan, Wahab Riyaz and Mohammed Amir both had two wickets in their previous match which indicate that they are taking the form slowly. Once Mohammed Amir comes in the form then he’ll be more ferocious than any other bowler in the tournament. Mohammed Hafeez and Shadab Khan have to go ahead with restricting runs in the middle overs.
Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Sarfaraz Ahmed (C & WK), Asif Ali, Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir.
Australia needs to have a win to get their hopes high again after they lose against India. Pakistan is in a considerable dilemma after being placed 7th in the table and will look to go up rather than down
