RR needs 185 to win!
Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler have walked out to open the innings for RR. IPL debutant Sam Curran to bowl the first over.
It’s all about power!!!
Jos Buttler and Ajinkya Rahane have crushed the KXIP attack in the Powerplay, and taken out 64 runs.
64/0 after 6 overs.
Jos Buttler brings up his sixth fifty
How’s the Jos?Destructive, sir! -Cowcorner
Carrom ball tricks Ajinkya Rahane and gives KXIP their first breakthrough. Much needed. Much much needed.
Ohh my lord!!! The KXIP skipper ‘mankads’ Jos Buttler
That ends a very entertaining innings. Although I’m not a big fan of the whole ‘Spirit of Cricket’ chats but still believe better sense should be made by a senior cricketer like Ashwin. This was sheer desperation by the bowler. He took his delivery stride, and at that point Buttler was inside his crease. The runner came out of his crease later. As per the rules, Ashwin was well within his rights to run out Buttler but looking at the circumstances and how RR were not really sneaking desperate runs in the middle overs, this was just disappointing on part of R Ashwin. Buttler makes his frustration evident – to Ashwin and to the KXIP dugout.
Do you agree with R Ashwin’s decision to run out Jos Buttler?
Dont blame Ashwin here. As its allowed in the Laws of the game.. how is it disrespectful or against the spirit of the game if its allowed within the Laws of game?
The former Aussie captain departs Steve Smith have played a handy cameo. However, he falls, courtesy a fine running catch by KL Rahul at long off, and has brought Kings XI Punjab back into the contest
Sam Curran gets GOLD!! dismissing Sanju Samson off the last ball of his spell. Having conceded 48 runs in the first three overs, the debutant returned superbly in the 17th over to concede only 4 runs and dismiss two set batsmen. A flurry of wickets have derailed RR’s chase, a game in which they seemed to have complete command.
My final point on this. Ashwin ran Buttler out. It went to the 3rd umpire who is on the ICC Elite panel. He looked at the replays & said the non-striker was out. He is the custodian of the laws & playing conditions. So irrespective of what Ashwin did, it was the umpire’s decision-harsha bhogle
A match that was going Rajasthan Royals’s way for most parts of the chase completely turned on upside down with the controversial dismissal of Jos Buttler. That Buttler dismissal turned things for RR. And hopefully, in hindsight, it’s not something that Ashwin would be too proud of.
Kings XI Punjab registered their first win in Jaipur and began their IPL 2019 campaign with a 14-run win.
The collapse has been created by this makand incident is debatable. So what do you guys think, comment and tell us what type of approach should be there? Was it okay to makand out or it should be the gentlemen’s game?
